“Snowbird” is not a bird.
“Snowbird” is a nickname for a person who lives in northern United States and Canada, but during long cold winter months this person comes to stay and live for the few months in the nice warm climate, like we have here in South Florida.
When they come, they stay here for a period of a few months, what usually is from October till April. Then they go back to their residence up North.
“Winter visitor” is the correct way to call people who come to stay here in South Florida for a few month during winter.
These long term visitors have few choises where to stay : they live in the RV, they rent a long term rental, or they own a property here. This makes them feel like home.
