Today is Earth Day.
According to Earth Day Network, “Earth Day 2018 is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behavior about plastics”. This is needed to eventually end plastic pollution.
I wanted to look up and read some information about the Earth Day. So, I found this article online “Earth Day 2018: Everything You Need to Know” that it all started when U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson, a Wisconsin native, organized the first Earth Day in spring 1970. During that time it was still legal for factories to let noxious fumes into the air or get rid of toxic waste into nearby water streams. That was because there were no laws to protect the environment and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency didn’t exist then.
Please, be kind and recycle.
