Summer is coming to South Florida. And with the summer, we get heat.

But at the same time, we have a hurricane season during the summer. Hurricane season starts June 1st, and ends in November 30th.

Residents are worried about watering their lawns, because the dirt can get dry really fast in the summer heat.

The rainy season started early this year in South Florida.

Watch National Weather Service  and their predictions about the incoming weather. During the rainy season, the rainy weather starts and it can rain for a few days non-stop, which brings lots of rain.

During the rainy season, it is recomended for residents to turn off their lawn sprinklers and irrigation systems and leave them turned off to let Nature do the work.

The heavy rain provides enough water for lawns to withstand without irrigation for up to two weeks.

Once the heavy storm passes, residents should wait to water the lawns and not to waste water.

When the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry, residents can start watering their lawns again.
