Broward College Downtown Campus Is Coming Down

Broward College Campus in Downtown Fort Lauderdale (1)
Broward College Downtown Campus has moved to the shared building with Florida Atlantic University, at the address 111 East Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL

In February 28th, 2017 The Broward College District Board of Trustees entered into an pre-development agreement and ground lease with Stiles Corporation for the redevelopment of Willis Holcombe Center, address 225 E Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL.

The work at the Broward College Downtown Fort Lauderdale Campus has started.

The studens and administrative employees have moved to the building on Las Olas Boulevard,  that Broward College shared with Florida Atlantic University.

Once completed, the new facility will create spaces that would benefit students attending the downtown center. The outdoor courtyard will provide a flexible, multi-use plaza for events, student activities, classroom instruction, and public gathering places. The new project will have lots of upgrades that include a pavilion for outdoor events and classes, and affordable restaurants and shops near campus.

In addition to spaces for College use, the facility will incorporate approximately 380,000 square feet of office space, 17,500 square feet of ground floor retail and dining, and an associated parking structure.

Stiles Corporation acquired parcel adjacent to the Broward College Campus and to the north, so the final project will include one city block on Las Olas Blvd. between SE 2nd Ave. and SE 3rd Ave.

The mixed use development will improve the pedestrian experience, and will be served by the Wave street car.

Expansion at Seminole Hard Rock and Casino in Hollywood, FL

There are a lot of changes coming to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.

The main feature of the new project is going to be a 35-story hotel shaped like a guitar. There are going to be many more other interesting features too: a larger performance venue, and a manmade lake with Pacific islands-inspired housing inside the middle of the water called “Bora Bora Experience”.

The work had started already. The original restaurants and retail shops complex that was at the casino has been torn down already.

It should be the the largest entertainment venues in South Florida once completed. It should be done in Summer 2019.
